The project aims at ADAPTATION, more specifically, the RESTORE and the CONSERVATION of a maritime port infrastructure, in the old Dry Dock - in the Passeio Ribeirinho de Faro, in a Sports Installation with formative character to practice of high performance training.
The urban operation proposal aims at adapting an industrial warehouse in a gym, in short, the conversion of a building in full ownership, without floors or divisions capable of independent use in a directed space for the practice of physical and sporting activities, based on HIGH INTENSITY FUNCTIONAL TRAINING.
In its spatial resolution the sports facility "HATLEX FARO _ Weightlifting Box" is nothing more than an industrial space, adapted to the use of free training gym with a 600 m2 area of deployment, a gross area of 620 m2 and a floor area 593 m2, all divided into two floors. The ground floor with a floor area of 530m2, is essentially an open-space with timely occupation of areas and services to physical activities to be undertaken. The second floor consists of rooms to support the staff and management of the premises, with a floor area of 63 m2.
The spatial organization policy, arises in trying to get the main feature as a broad, free and unoccupied space for a free and functional training, not proposing major changes between the original space and the pre-existing warehouse, with the intended now to a gym.
In its constitution it has the usual area of support for the training (showers, changing rooms and toilets) and sitting area with reception Snack bar and rest area. As well as complementary services area as massages, physical therapy and muscle recovery.
